Connect-Ed Donation

MEET DR. NAMIN — The Parents for Mahar Students Group hosted a “Meet Dr. Reza Namin, Mahar Regional School District’s Superintendent, night” at the Petersham Center School in March. A number of parents and community members attended. During the months of March and April Dr. Namin visited the four towns that belong to the district to meet their community members and answer any questions they might have. Parents of Mahar Students Organization made the donation to improve Communication by implementation of the Connect-Ed system. The system will enable the district to communicate with the parents, students, staff, and the community within few seconds. UPCOMING PARENTS’ GROUP MEETING   The next Parents' Group meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle School Teachers’ Room.  We welcome all interested Mahar parents, staff, and community members who would like to become involved with our group.

 

PFMS GROUP MARCH FUNDRAISER During the month of March, funds donated through the Hannaford Store Wishing Well Program will be going to the Parents for Mahar Students Group.  These funds will help support our programs here at Mahar.*

 

UPCOMING SCHOOL STORE EVENTS     Store @ Lunch                  Friday, March 27, 2009     10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Store @ Lunch                  Friday,   April 17, 2009     10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.   The Mahar School Store will be open during home Varsity Baseball Games and Boys Track Meets this season.  Our Parents’ Group will also be selling refreshments at these events.  Come take a look at our newest store item…Mahar Pajama Pants.

 

 

MAPP Fundraisers*

Support Mahar Seniors: 

On Saturday, April 4th Trailhead Outdoor Store in downtown Orange will be donating 20% of that day's sales to Mahar Seniors for the After Prom Party.  Come shop from 10:00-6:00 p.m! 

Hannaford Cans & Bottles donations will go toward the Mahar After Prom Party for the entire month of April.  Drop off your redeemable donations.

The Mahar After Prom Party is a drug-free, alcohol-free party to benefit Mahar Graduating Seniors

Jibbitz® Fundraiser:  The School Store is selling Jibbitz® decorations for your Croc style shoes.  The proceeds from the sales will go toward the Middle School Field Trip Fund.

 

2006-2007:  The Parents for Mahar Students Group had a busy 2006-2007 school year.  We completed and mailed hundreds of Student Directories to participating families. Construction of the Portable School Store was completed just in time for the basketball season, and it has been a great success. The Parents’ Group web page and eStore were launched with the help of Dr. Namin. This web page has been a valuable addition for our Parents’ Group, offering us a new venue for informing families about our programs and fundraisers.

2007-2008:  The Parents for Mahar Students Group held a Scholastic Book Fair where Mahar families and staff purchased books to help Mahar earn free books for the School Library.  We participated in the Holiday Bazaar held by the class of 2010 and in a Barnes and Noble Gift Wrapping Fundraiser for the 2008 Mahar 8^th Grade class field trip to Boston.  We were pleased to be able to open the School Store at more school events including fall sports, basketball games, Spaghetti Suppers, school lunch periods, and more. 

§    MAHAR BASEBALL SCOREBOARD FUNDRAISER*:  The Parents for Mahar Students Group sold refreshments at Mahar home baseball games and boys track meets this past 2008 season, in addition to selling items from the portable school store.  The Parents’ Group has made a second $200.00 donation to the Mahar Baseball Program’s scoreboard fundraiser. 

§    MAHAR BLEACHER FUND DONATION:  The Parents for Mahar Students Group made a $200.00 donation to the Mahar Bleacher fund in memory of Kyle Flood from the proceeds of selling flowers to students and staff on Valentine’s Day 2007.

§    SCHOOL STORE: The Mahar Portable School Store will be open during sporting events and school functions.  The store carries items such as t-shirts, shorts, hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants, hats, shoe bags, and more.  You will also be able to purchase sport team photos by photographer Dale Lougee*.  The proceeds from the store sales will go to the Parents for Mahar Students Group to be used for the benefit of students and staff at Mahar.  Please look for us at upcoming events.

§    CONNECT ED: The Parents for Mahar Students Group helped get Connect Ed online by sponsoring the program for the first six months.  The Connect-Ed system enables Mahar to communicate with parents, students, and staff within a few moments.  This program was meant to be a link to information for parents and students with Mahar and has proved to be most invaluable.

Ink Cartridge/Cell Phone Recycling Program The Parents for Mahar Students Group belongs to an ink cartridge and cell phone recycling program.  We collect and return empty ink jet and laser printer cartridges and used cell phones, and in turn receive funds for our school.  Your empty cartridges and used cell phones may be dropped off at the school office in a container addressed to the Parents for Mahar
