Instructions
For 10 years, Space Explorers has been providing teachers with Internet-based educational programs. More than 4,400 teachers worldwide currently have access to our lesson plans, mission simulations, plant experiments, online chats with astronauts and scientists, and other cross-disciplinary activities. The Space Explorers staff strives to develop educational programs that will enhance students’ preparation for the state science tests. These hands-on experiences also provide them with skills they can take with them as they approach careers after high school.
Space Explorers understands that your time to offer such programs to your students is limited. We can show you how to implement these valuable programs to maximize your students’ efforts in the classroom and minimize the amount of time you spend preparing for these lessons and activities. Please feel free to take a moment to view our lessons and activities. Go to www.space-explorers.com and enter the Login name: demonstration and password: pressure, then click ‘Go.’ Once you are logged in, you can explore any or all of the following programs:

MISSION: SOLAR SYSTEM
At the top of the page, you will see the Mission: Solar System section. This program covers Earth, space, and physical science topics. Click on ‘Teacher Lesson Plans’ to see a list of all the lessons available to you. In the Marslink® category, click on your grade level to take a look at any or all of these lessons. The lessons are based on the state standards for Science.

Click your browser’s Back arrow go get out of any particular lesson. On the left-hand side of the screen under the Teachers category, click on ‘Mission Simulation Guide.’ This will give you access to the different Missions your students can accomplish. For Marslink, your students become NASA engineers and launch a rocket to Mars over the Internet. This 100-minute simulation is similar to what they would experience at Space Camp...only without the expensive trip to Alabama! Once in the Marslink section, you can click ‘Flight Manual’ to get a picture of what the students will be doing during the simulation. To see what the simulation looks like, we do have to be on the phone and Internet together.
When you are finished, click the Back arrow and then click ‘Mission Simulation Guide’ again. Click on Mars Explorer simulation. (You’ll need to have the latest version of Shockwave Player, which you can download that on the bottom left portion of the page if you don’t already have.) Then click on ‘Simulation Version 1.0.5’ in the left column of the page. You can check out the curriculum or the simulation. Please do not save anything if you go onto the simulation, however; just pick a spot on Mars and click ‘Launch’. Then, once you start driving your Rover, if you run out of daylight, click ‘Next Sol’ to continue.
If you are having trouble viewing the Mars Explorer mission, it is because another teacher is using the same password. To view the mission, you will need to log off and re-sign in as a student. This will also give you the viewpoint of a student on our website, as they do not have your same access. Please use one of these following user name and password combinations as they are written:

demonstration-s11: unearthed
demonstration-s12: logarithm

ORBITAL LABORATORY®
To view programs covering life and space science, as well as Health and Human Physiology, click on the words "Change Programs" on the left-hand side of the page (below where it says "Welcome, Demo Account"). In the Orbital Laboratory® section, click ‘Payload 003 Main Page.’

On the left-hand side of the page under the Teachers heading, click ‘Lesson Plans.’ This will give you a list of all the lessons available to you. Under the Students heading in the left column, click "Interactives" to take a look at each interactive program. The lessons are based on the national standards for Science. You also want to check out the links under Payload 003 on the bottom right side of the page.
