Welcome to all of you who have volunteered to be members of the Vision 2009 Strategic Planning Committee. We are proud to have administrators, teachers, parents, students, and representatives from Orange, New Salem, Wendell, and Petersham as members of our team.

Our meetings will be chaired and guided by Dr. John Aherne, Superintendent of the Abington Public Schools and consultant of Teachers21.

“Strategic Planning is a process for creating an organization’s preferred future. It is a planning process for organizational renewal and transformation that provides a framework for improving programs, management functions, and evaluation of an organization’s progress. Strategic planning helps organizations think and act strategically, develop effective strategies, clarify future directions, establish priorities, improve organizational performance, build teamwork and expertise, and deal effectively with a rapidly changing environment.” Teachers 21

I am confident that through our collaboration, we will build a common purpose for the future of our school. With a wonderful new building, we have an inspiration and an opportunity to renew our commitment to the education of our children. Together, we will continue building a better Mahar.
