Summer 2008 - Virtual High School will offer two four-week summer school sessions and an extended 8 week summer session for year long credit recovery courses.

Virtual High School Summer School is for students who:

  • need to make up credits to graduate on schedule
  • have other commitments and need flexible scheduling
  • want to prepare for a future course of study
  • could benefit from a different learning environment.

VHS-trained teachers conduct the online classes which are designed for approximately 90 minutes of instruction per day (Monday through Friday). Students can take VHS Summer School courses any time, any place, allowing for greater flexibility in their summer plans.

Summer School courses are offered in 4-week sessions and are designed to provide students with enrichment or credit recovery for one high school semester. VHS offers two recurrent sessions of the same summer school courses. VHS also offers and extended summer session which is 8 weeks in length and is intended for year long credit recovery.

Credit Recovery
It is the responsibility of the student to determine their school's acceptance of VHS summer school course credit for credit recovery. VHS offers two recurring sessions of the same courses. Session I & II courses are designed to recover one high school semester course. Extended Summer Session courses are designed to recover a full year of academic credit.
